Little white riding hood

I just love hoodies!!! Don't you? Althought they are associated to sports or street wear I think some are really feminin. I use all the time, mainly in the weekends and at home I'm always with the wood on. Don't get scared, is just me playing a little red riding hood who wants to eat the big bad wolf!!!!

Oxford look for a cold day!

The thing is... I'm not enjoying my face! From 20 pictures I took, this was the only one I liked, I need to spend 10 days sun tanning. Soon! It might be the only solution for me...
Talking about the look. In the morning was 10ºC, really cold for me so I decided to wear my Big Foot boots. I know... They are the ugliest boots in the world, but so confortable and warm I couldn't resist. Jeans, yes that's right, It's not a normal option, I'm a dress girl, but once again, confortable was the word of the day. I matched with a Oxford pattern shirt and my new navy cardigan.

Now Halston Heritage for me....

I'm thinking about this dress for New Years Eve... What do you think? You cand find it in here!

The world of Halston Heritage

Last January, rumor has it that Sarah Jessica Parker was going to be nominated President and Chief Creative Officer of Halston Heritage. In May she could show to the worl some of her criations in Sex & the City II by wearing 6 dresses Halston Heritage by SJP.

The stylist of the production, Patty Field, says the choice of this brand was not only a demonstration of support of Sarah's work but also meant a breeze of fresh air: "I was just personally a little bit tired of all these exaggerated, artificial shapes on clothing. Shoulders pointed out to there and skirts that look ballooned. I was just feeling - desiring - like, chic simplicity. And so I had turned to Halston". The stylist choice was a worldwide success. The white deep V frock dress used in the first SJP's appearance in the film, frame that is used in the promotional poster, became a huge spring summer hit. It was official, Sarah Jessica Parker allied to a Hollywood hit, launched Halston Heritage back to the greatness of the 70's with the main brand: Halston.
Roy Halston was a hat designer in the late 50's when he receveid an order by the fashion icon, Jacqueline Kennedy. The hat he designed to her was widely copied and Halston became the first designer with celebrity status. After working in some prestigious houses, Halston became independent in the 70's. American socialites considered him the best evening wear designer, famous by the greek and roman draping inspiration. He was a constant presence in Studio 54 and had Bianca Jagger and Liza Minelli as clients and friends.
When he died in the 90's with only 58 years old, a succession crisis was created, later solved by the arrival of the thai born Piyawat Pattanapuckdee.

Watch the womenswear full show AW 2010/2011 here:

Halston Heritage is a second line, cheaper and simpler, that is loyal to Roy Halston first designs by evoking the studio 54 glamour in tiered chiffon dresses and asymmetric mini dresses in a host of candy colors. This translates in one shoulder and double layer mini and maxi items, sequined vests, frocks and golden greek cuts in stretch jersey and silk. Since 1953 to nowadays, Halston's designs are still a hit, now growing in many directions of success.

9 things about me....

This a challenge sent to me from a blogfriend, tell 9 things about yourself!
I encourage everyone to do it in your blog or in my comments so we can learn a bit more about the people we read everyday.

1- My favourite smell in the world is of fried onion in olive oil.

2- The only city that I can imagine myself living rather than Oporto is Barcelona.

3- My top three movies are Mulholland Drive, Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump.

4- My dream job is to teach cinema studies to university students.

5- I'm addicted to lingerie. Everytime I go to a shopping I want to buy something.

6- I love reading and writing. When I was 15 I count the number of books I read in that summer: 34.

7- I slept with a hippo teddy called George every night for the last 10 years.

8- I'm always cold, in the summer I sleep with a duvet driving everyone around crazy.

9- I'm very spoiled and I make (rumor has it) a different voice when I'm talking with my parents or boyfriend.

Shopping in Paris...

In the last 3 days I visited lots of turistic places, beautiful buildings and cathedrals, museums, fancy bars and resturants and stores. Mainly stores! Since art deco to shoes, I saw a bit of everything. I visited the haute couture brands in Saint Honoré and Saint Germains and the alternative styles and designers in Marais and a little bit over everywhere. Even the Louvre store I loved and not to mention the street markets with so many nice antiques worth to buy. I'm going to show you my favourite purchases, not including the ones for my house or the many souvenirs I bought.

I just love this Tiffany's silver necklace with a heart shape locker. It has a very special meaning and I'm sure I'm going to use it almost everyday. It's all I can tell ;)

I always tell I need more sneakers but I never buy... And after some sneakers from designers brands, I'm back to Nike, the one and only, with the most pretty and confortable sports footwear. I bought these because I love the boot shape and the animal print. I felt very feminin using them and I think I can match with some cotton winter dresses I have.

This was my only vintage purchase. Everyhing I saw was old or overpriced so I think I rather buy new stuff. Like I told you in the last post, it was really cheap and the fur is amazing.

These boots were love at first sight. I'd seen some similar in some magazines and blogs but never thought of actually buying some. They are really confortable and warm and the color and model is just perfect for this season tendencies! It's going to match perfectly with the brown aviator jacket I've in my wish list.

In my next post I'll show you some Paris looks. Stay tuned!

Paris, furs and me...

It's 2h40 in the morning in Paris and I'm tired, but not tired enough not to share with you my bargain. I didn't have the chance to visit too many stores, tomorrow I'll hope to be in the right places. But, and I'm so happy there's a but: I found this Giorgio Armani rabbit fur in a vintage store for an amazing price. It's warm and so soft... I wore it tonight to have dinner, amazing weather in Paris by the way. Here it is the first photo!

Elie Saab SS2011

Elie Saab is my favourite dress designer, I want to marry in one. Can you understand why?

Wednesday, 6 October 2010

The dress they told me I was using the backside in the front.

I was trying this silk dress at Mango when the girls working there told me it looked great but I was actually using the back of the dress in the front like you can see in the photo above. Was I? Because the big clivage looks great on a naked skinny front, looking sexy without revealing almost anything. And the closed front like is supposed is just boring don't you think? Well I suppose I've two dresses for the price of one. One more classic and another more, more... More me!
