This Pantone tpx color guide was a great investment. It cost a little fortune but it has all the colors available for textiles, like this old, reddish pink nominated color of the year by Pantone. I counted more than 120 pinks in my book but this is THE ONE.
I reccomend everyone who works in fashion to buy this book: it's a great instrument! But let's talk about this Honeysuckle color. In Pantone website you can read that this color is: "Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing everyday about it."
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute® explains the choice of this color by saying that in time of stress is essential to be surrounded by stimulating colors to "lift our spirits". Eiseman continues saying: “Honeysuckle may also bring a wave of nostalgia for its associated delicious scent reminiscent of the carefree days of spring and summer.”
We can see this color in many SS11 collections like in the Marc Jacobs I showed you here a couple of months ago. I hope this inspires you in your next purchases, it will inspires me for sure. I'm really glad that a pink is the color of the year, I'm a pink lover girl indeed! =)
