It has been since I remember a love/ hate relationship. It doesn't happens in all fashion shows but mainly in fashion weeks, widely covered by the media and now for blogs too. Portugal Fashion starts tomorrow and I think I'm going everyday but Saturday, once I prefer to do a romatic escape in the weekend. I'm going on work purposes and of course by personal interest too.
I don't need to talk about the love part. You can imagine. I love to see the work of several months on those 10 minutes. The songs they've chosen, the sequence of the clothes, the colors, the models... It's like a dance and like a little girl I get hypnotised by the runaway. And of course, talking about Portugal Fashion, I'm talking about the pride I have for some many talented portuguese designers. This week is also great to meet people I don't see in a long while that I know they are going to be there for sure. It's like a tradition.
And then you have the hate part, a little bit related to this tradition I talked. More and more every year you have people in fashion weeks that are more interested to see and to be seen that in the fashion per se. I also don't like the long waitings between shows and I just don't get the attitude of some non sense people trying too hard in every way. I always found this kind of atmosphere weird so I'm going to keep, as always, my low profile for these occasions.
Don't expect to see here reports of the shows or pictures of the runaway. Maybe some outfits of myself and in the end, if I think I have seen enough, a critical summary of what better is done in my country.
For those who are going I hope you enjoy the shows, don't get desperate with bureaucracies and mainly: keep it simple! It's the best advice I can offer.
PS- If you cross into me, come and say Hi! I'd love to meet some bloggers I just know through the screen.
