In this post I wanted to talk a bit more about the north of the island but then looking at the pictures I realized that Porto Cervo deserved it a post of its own. Costa Smeralda was created 50 years ago by the billionaire Prince Aga Khan, so he and his friends could have their exclusive paradise in Europe: incredible resorts surrounded by the nature of the Island in its original state.
From humble beaches on the west coast, I arrived to this amazing spot at the 5th day, falling in love with the incredible boats and the beautiful private beaches.
Of course in Porto Cervo "more is always more" and you could see ostentation everywhere. In less than five minutes, I saw more girls holding Birkin bags, than in a lifetime, and most of them where leaving the beach. The city center has all the exquisite brands, such as Celine, Louis Vuitton and Bulgari and you could see everyone on their swimming suits shopping around at much higher prices than usual. I bought just one simple t-shirt that I will show you in the next post and I was really happy that I resisted to temptation.
In the photos you can see our lunch in a hotel by the marina (I'm crazy about boats) and then the wild beach that we find out by accident, just by walking around in the woods. I hope you are not tired yet of my beach photos, still more to come, but I can tell you already that this was my favourite one.
