Diogo Miranda - Spring/ Summer 2014

This year I attended Portugal Fashion, Abstract edition, to watch one show only: Diogo Miranda. It was the one I expected the most, since I follow his career for quite some long. He is great at dressing up women, almost reminds me of Roberto Cavalli without the occasional cheesyness, and let's not forget he is really young. This collection was no different from others. I had high expectations and I ended up loving it all.
Diogo inspired himself in Oscar Niemeyer architecture and the result is a big giant wave dyed in pastel colours, white and his adored black. Here are my favourite sets plus the bag that caught my eye.

Downton Abbey Fashion

If you follow me on Facebook, you understood by now that I'm a big fan of Downton Abbey. Actually is my number one tv show at the moment and I'm just sorry it took me so many years to discover it. I love the characters, the brilliant lines, the history behind the story and of course, the fashion. Currently on series four, we are talking about 1922, those years of change when  finally women could vote and it would be possible to spot here and there some of them wearing trousers. Dresses were long, but not long enought to hide the ankles and shapeless, as women needed some freedom of movement after Word War I. This means: no more corsets! Colours were sober, despite happy, and burgundy seemed to be a must have. The hair should be worn curly and tighed down and in her feet we can see medim heeled shoes, mainly "Mary Janes".  Ah! And of course: hats, headbands, tiaras and all kind of hair accessories were a must seen. After all, we are talking about british...
Despite we don't see the Crawleys shopping in the series, we can understand her clothes come from Paris and busy London and sometimes we have some references about crazy New York. Isn't it all delicious? I just love it. And now, the images.

Knee-high boots: Heritage

Check the last post I published. Can you see it? They are everywhere!

Bare legs, opaque tights, jeans, skirts or mini dresses. Heeled or not, leather or not. Yes, I'm talking about the knee-high boots. They make a look by themselves and this season they are cool, cool, cool. The best part? They "first" showed up in circa 2009 and some of us have one pair lost in the closet. Erm... For some of us, I mean me, me, me (imagine big smile).

I got mine for Christmas 2009, a pair of croco leather by Zara and I can't wait to wear them now in 2013. Ideas? Mix it whatever, whenever, I'll be fine. What about you? Ready for this trend?

The Gym issue*.

I did it, finally, I freakin did it! Step one: done, I'm finally enrolled on a gym. Actually, step two is done aswell, once I bought some gym clothes today. All I need now is all my strenght to go almost everyday to the pilates,  pump and what-so-ever classes, and loose the 5 kilos I want. More than that, I would like to be one of those persons, you know... The gymaholics, with six pack abs and incredible legs... Ok, let's keep on the 5, mmm maybe 3... kilos goal. For what concerns you, I promise to do some updates and now, of course.. Show you my new Oysho gymwear.

Suggestions for some nice footwear?

*This gym is inside a shopping mall, and to get there, I need to go across Zara and Mc. Donalds. Can you see the ironic picture? I thought so...
